Samsung Flow app- Now with Galaxy Smartphone you can unlock your Windows 10 PC with your finger print

Samsung Flow is an android app that you can find at Google Play. With the latest update on this app you can now unlock your PC by tapping your unlocked Galaxy smartphone and scanning your fingerprint. You can easily enable your mobile hotspot to keep your PC connected, and check and reply directly to your phone’s notifications. Using Samsung Flow, furthermore, you can transfer content and activity between different devices.

Before using this service, you should have at least one fingerprint registered on your Galaxy phone, and pair the two devices via Bluetooth if you have not done so. Also you need to make sure you unlock your phone before tapping the phone on your PC.

The devices that meet the Samsung Flow system

• For PC: Windows 10, Bluetooth 4.1 enabled PCs
• For Smartphone: Android OS Marshmallow (6.0) or newer, touch type fingerprint sensor enabled
  Bluetooth pairing between devices, NFC function should be turned on, a fingerprint should be registered.

At the moment, Samsung Flow allows Galaxy Tab Pro S users to unlock their tablet with a compatible Galaxy smartphone’s fingerprint scanner. Here are the supported smartphones confirmed by Samsung: Galaxy S7, Galaxy S7 edge, Galaxy S6, Galaxy S6 edge, Galaxy S6 edge+, Galaxy Note 5, Galaxy A5 (2016), and Galaxy A7 (2016).

What you need to check before using Samsung Flow

• Samsung Flow app/driver must be installed on both your Samsung Flow supported Windows PC and Galaxy smartphone.
• There should be at least one fingerprint registered on your phone, and your phone should be unlocked at the time of using the service.
• You need to turn on the bluetooth on both devices to pair them up before using the service for smoother service setup.
• If screen saver is running on your Windows PC screen, you need to exit it first to unlock your PC with Samsung Flow.

Samsung Flow Set up Guide

You can easily unlock your PC by tapping your unlocked Galaxy smartphone and scanning your fingerprint. You can also easily enable your mobile hotspot to keep your PC connected, and check and reply directly to your phone’s notifications.

First unlock your smartphone. Check your phone’s NFC setting to make sure it’s turned on. Tap the backside of your phone on the left side of TabProS keyboard. You will be moved to Google Playstore.

Download and install the Samsung Flow app from the store.

As said above your phone should have at least one fingerprint registered to use the Samsung Flow. If you have not registered any fingerprint yet, then go to Settings >Lockscreen and Security >Fingerprints >Add Fingerprint menu to add a fingerprint.

If you already have a fingerprint registered, please open Samsung Flow app and agree to Terms of Service. Then the Bluetooth will be turned on so that your phone can be ready for device pairing.

Please setup your 4 digit PIN in your TabProS, Settings > Accounts > Sign-in options > PIN. This is necessary process to register your fingerprint in Windows Hello.

Next, you will pair the smartphone and TabProS device. Please click the Samsung Flow app from the Start menu on the bottom left.

By clicking “Driver Update” button on the bottom of the Samsung Flow app, you will be moved to download the driver. Please download and install the driver.

By clicking “Pairing” button on the bottom, you will be moved to the “Pair” page. Please find your smartphone model from the device list and click “Pair.” You can select your smartphone from the device list when Samsung Flow app is running on your mobile.

You will see the passkey on both devices to request and confirm Bluetooth pairing of the two devices. Click Yes to confirm the pairing on both devices.

To use Samsung Flow service, you should register a fingerprint for Windows Hello. Click “Setup” at the bottom of the app to move to “Setup” page. Then click “REGISTER FINGERPRINT”

You will see the image guide of scanning your fingerprint . Please unlock your phone, and tap the backside of your phone on left side of the TabProS keyboard. Then scan your finger a few times on the smartphone to complete the process.

To use Samsung Flow service, unlock your phone, and tap the backside of your phone on the left side of NFC tag on TabProS keyboard. When you see the fingerprint scanning request pop-up on your phone, scan your finger on your phone to start using the service.
