Samsung is Reinventing Blu-ray With Bold New Player
Samsung is reigniting the public’s interest in Blu-ray players with the surprise release of their UBD-K8500 Ultra-HD 4k Blu-ray player. Last year they made history in Berlin when they announced that their first ever 4k player would launch this March. This was the first of many tricks that Samsung had up its sleeve. To the joy of movie lovers worldwide Samsung released the UBD-K8500 over a month early, & it’s already flying off the shelves. This new generation of 4k Blu-ray players hope to make up for the lackluster performance of the original Blu-ray players. Now that they have the world’s attention, Samsung is losing no time in shining the spotlight on this ground breaking new technology.
The UBD-K8500 is more than just your typical Blu-ray player, it’s the beginning of a whole new way of enjoying films. With its outrageously powerful capabilities, it promises to impress even the harshest critic. What makes it so exceptional is that it is the first player to harness the true potential of 4k Ultra-HD. At 4k it has 4 times the resolution of normal Blu-ray players, along with 64 times the amount of color expression. This groundbreaking new player is capable of upscaling content of any disc to UHD resolution, as well as being compatible with any 4K streaming services. Did we mention it also supports HDR video? Throw in the fact that it’s both 2.4 GHz & 5 GHz Wi-Fi enabled and you have a player that can make any techie drool. To help users transition into this all powerful player Samsung created a new hub where users can share info called SmartThings.
No-one expected to see this player until the end of March, but Samsung treated their fans with an early release. This resulted in the UBD-K8500 flying off the shelves in Santa Monica, leaving one store completely sold out the same day. Best Buy is also receiving a flood of pre-orders that is proving that the public is ready for this bold new technology. While the reasons behind the unexpected release of this player are unclear, it’s no secret that Samsung has once again outdone themselves.
Reinvigorating the public’s interest in Blu-ray was no easy task, but if anyone could pull it off it would be Samsung. The lack of film options became the demise of the first wave of Blu-ray players, & Samsung vowed to never let that happen again. This time they hit the ground running as they networked with nearly every major platform to ensure that there were plenty of compatible options for their player. Ever since last year Samsung has been working with Amazon, Netflix, Canal Plus & British Telecom to give their users the diverse amount of options that they crave. Now that the market for 4k films has expanded by leaps & bounds, people are finally being seduced into switching to 4k Ultra-HD Blu-ray. With a slew of film companies working on fresh batches of 4k films, the future looks bright for this powerful new player.
