Notebook 7 Spin Takes Hybrids to New Level
When it comes to 360 degree hinge laptops, the Notebook 7 Spin goes the extra mile. Finally users have a hybrid laptop that doesn’t make them want to smash it. Most Windows hybrids are basically tablets that have had a keyboard added to it. Since they are only part time laptops, many necessary features get lost in translation. Samsung aims to change all that with the Notebook 7 Spin. This hybrid actually feels like a standard 15 inch laptop. It can easily fold back & convert into a touchscreen tablet, without having to sacrifice key features to do it.
Notebook 7 Spin is Ushering in a New Era for Hybrids
One of the most surprising features of the Notebook 7 Spin is its HDR mode. The highly coveted HDR mode opens doors to a whole new world of clarity. HDR TV achieves superior contrast & clarity by balancing light & dark parts of the picture. To give users this elusive option Samsung created a software HDR filter. This allows you to apply HDR effects to any video you’re watching. This commitment free viewing option lets you dabble with this innovative feature. If you prefer regular HD you can always switch it off in the blink of an eye.
Another feature that makes the Notebook 7 Spin stand out from the pack is the Nvidia 940MX graphics chip. While it won’t make you a full time gamer, it puts the Notebook 7 Spin miles ahead of its competitors. It allows you to play mainstream games on medium settings & full HD resolution. That’s no small feat since every other hybrid falls painfully short when it comes to gaming.
The rest of the specs are surprisingly solid for a hybrid. The keyboard is comfortable & allows you to get down to business. The battery can stream video for 7 hours 50 minutes on a single charge. This puts the battery life ahead of Dell’s Inspiron & only slightly behind the HP Spectre x360.
One of the only things that may make people hesitant about purchasing the Notebook 7 Spin is the price. However Samsung is trying to reduce the sting for American customers by discounting the laptop by $100. In the US there are two models available, one is retailing at $899 while the other costs $1,099. Both models feature Intel Core i7 processors & the prized Nvidia graphics chip. But the higher end model jumps from 12GB to 16GB of RAM. Another advantage of the higher end model is the extra 128GB SSD to the 1TB platter hard drive. If you want a more budget friendly version you are stuck with the 13 inch version that excludes Nvidia graphics & features Core i5. Our tests revealed that the 15 inch versions are well worth the extra loot.
At the end of the day, Samsung chose functionality over beauty with the Notebook 7 Spin. It’s a full feature hybrid that sports a Core i7 CPU with the extra advantage of Nvidia graphics. While it may not be affordable for everyone, it’s still a decent price for those specs. If you want a quality hybrid that will get the job done, you can’t go wrong with the Notebook 7 Spin.
